I'm not sure if the 900 and the 960 are the same, but I think that the Canon
i950 and Epson 960 are comparable. All of the top-ranked photo printers do a
good job, so it tends to become a matter of features, ink and paper costs,
and things like that.

I'd had Epsons for years, myself, and used HPs at work. This was my first
Canon.

I don't know what there might be to fear. The only concern I had was that
this (my i950) was my first USB peripheral on this machine. It worked fine,
first time.

I've had an Epson 870 photo printer that I used exclusively for photos. When
I lost my job (and general purpose HP color printer) I looked at the 960 and
i950 for both general purpose and photos, probably with an emphasis on
photos.

I bought the i950 and love it. It's fast, quiet and its output is amazing.
I'm primarily using either Epson "luster" or Red River "polar satin" and
have been very well pleased.

you can't go wrong with the i950. plus, it's about $150 less than the 960.

I went through the exact same thing, from loosing my job to buying the i950.
It didn't help that none of the local stores had a 960 that I could check
out, buying a printer sight (and print sample) unseen just makes no sense.
