How do I use more than 600 DPI with ScanSoft OmniPage PRO 14 Office?

I just got ScanSoft OmniPage PRO 14 Office to run
on my Windows XP Professional system with my new
Epson Perfection 3200 Pro.

How do I convince OmniPage to let me use scans that
were originally made at 1200 DPI?

The scans were made from high quality prints that
were reduced in size from the originals.

Why does it even care that what the original size of the
document was? I should be able to scan so that there are
a nice number of samples per character. Why should it
care if my characters are 1 mile high or 1 micro high, just
as long as height of the characters is something like 15-30,
samples, not 1 or 1000000000 samples?

I have JASC Paint Shop Pro 8 and can get Adobe Photoshop 7
if I have to do some resize or resampling thing in an image
editor.

In article < XXXX@XXXXX.COM >,
XXXX@XXXXX.COM says...

I think that is part of its algorithm. It wants 300 dpi, but it will accept
up to 600 dpi.

Best not to resample it (dont change image size in pixels). Just scale it back
to 600 dpi again (to double size).

In Photoshop resize box, uncheck Resample and specify 600 dpi.

In PSP, specify 600 dpi (but dont change inches yourself - Make sure size in
pixels remains the same).

Thanks. Unchecking the "Resample using:" box did the trick.

Still, it would be nice if OmniPage Pro 14 had a "rescale" switch
itself.
