BIOS problem with SCSI controller AIC 7892

Hi all,

I have a problem with a SCSI controller. I have a workstation HP Kayak
XU800, and have bought a new SCSI harddrive for it. This drive has a
capacity of 73 Gb, but my SCSI controller only recognizes appx. 4 Gb (
! )

I have found out that it is my BIOS for the SCSI controller which is
outdated, and I have tried to find an update over most of the www -
including Adaptec's and HP's own websites. Unfortunately without luck.
Does anybody by coincidence have a clue of where I can get an update?

All suggestions will be very appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

It would have to be a modulo 64GiB bug, if any.
Never heard of that.

That's utter nonsense with an Ultra160 SCSI controller, unless it's that
modulo bug.

Ask HP. They are the only source.

HP. Otherwise it gets very tricky and depends on having an Award bios.

Another route may be to shortstroke the drive down to below 64GiB (~68GB).
