Getting Windows to prompt users to change their password

Getting Windows to prompt users to change their password

Hi

I have a RedHat/Samba (2.2.8 I think) server as my main file/print
server. The clients are a mixture of various Windows PCs and servers
(2003, XP, 2000, 98 and even 95).

Everything is great, except that I can't get passwords to expire
properly, and prompt the users to change them. We can change passwords
manually from Windows e.g. from Control Panel - Passwords, but nothing
I do seems to prompt the users to change their password regulalry.

I had heard this would be implemented/easier in Samba 3 but having
installed that on another RedHat box, nothing seems any different. I
can set the accounts to expire in RedHat and can see the effects of
that if I login to the account directly on the server, but nothing
doing in Windows.

I can't seem to find any documentation on this either. Can someone
tell me where I'm going wrong or tell me where to find some
documentation on it? I have the offical Samba 3 book, I can't find
anything in that but maybe I'm just looking in the wrong place...

Thanks!
