error using 'mkdir' while using neural network toolbox

Post by justkot » Sun, 01 Aug 2004 04:55:23

Hi,
Please help me , because I am new to MatLab, I could not debug the
following error:

??? Error using ==> mkdir

Error in ==> C:\Program
Files\MATLAB6p5\toolbox\nnet\nnutils\addnntemppath.m
On line 11 ==> mkdir(tempdir,'matlab_nnet')

Error in ==> C:\Program Files\MATLAB6p5\toolbox\nnet\nnutils\gensimm.m
On line 224 ==> addnntemppath;

Error in ==> C:\Program Files\MATLAB6p5\toolbox\nnet\nnet\trains.m
On line 124 ==> simfunc = gensimm(net);

Error in ==> C:\Program
Files\MATLAB6p5\toolbox\nnet\nnet\@network\adapt.m
On line 182 ==> [net,tr,Ac,El] =
feval(adaptFcn,net,Pd,Tl,Ai,Q,TS,[],[]);

Error in ==> I:\CurveFitting\TimeCons\Double\NNet.m
On line 30 ==> [net, Y, E, Pf, Af, tr] = adapt(net,A,T);

This is from the following program:

function [] = NNet()

%Input vectors and Target
A = xlsread('Double_results.xls');
T = xlsread('Target.xls');

%Each column is one input vector and Target respectively.
A = A';
T = T';

%number of hidden units
h = 3;

%creating the network
net = newff(minmax(A),[h,3],{'tansig','tansig'},'traingdm');

net.trainParam.epochs = 100;
net.trainParam.goal = 1e-4;
net.trainParam.lr = 0.01;
net.trainParam.mc = 0.5;
net.trainParam.show = 25;
net.trainParam.time = inf;

%training in incremental fashion
[net, Y, E, Pf, Af, tr] = adapt(net,A,T);

error using 'mkdir' while using neural network toolbox

This isn't the full error message. It should say why MKDIR is erroring.
Just as a random guess, type "tempdir" at the MATLAB prompt without the
quotes and check that directory outside of MATLAB:

1) do you have write permission to that directory
2) does that directory exist
3) is the disk on which that directory exists full
4) if it is on a network drive is that drive connected
5) is there already a matlab_nnet subdirectory in that directory?

If none of those are the problem, post the full error message you receive to
the newsgroup.

Hi,
Thanks a lot. Also does MatLab accept directory names, with
spaces in them. Thanks

Koti

By the way , that was the full error message that I got. Thanks.
