Hello lord.farqua

ZII SCSI cards are notoriously slow in both the A3000 and A4000. Does
it have any memory on it? That should help, but it will never be a
fast controller on that machine due to its ZIII interface.

The problem is that that controller is only able to use 24 bit DMA(AKA
CHIP RAM or the RAM on the controller itself) so it will always be
slower than the internal coontroller on a 4000 which can use the 32
bit RAM on the MOBO. Get a Fastlane Z3 or 4091(This is why these two
conntrollers sell for so much) Paul

I knew they were pretty slow but....700K a second? Something has to be
wrong. It should be able to do at least the 2.5mb/s speed of the internal

Maybe a GURU ROM (if you can find one) would help?
