Windows 98 Web Service Client (WSE)

Windows 98 Web Service Client (WSE)

We just got started on a new project that is going to require communicating
with Windows 98 workstations. Our initial design has a .NET Windows Service
running on the Windows 98 machine(s) with communication between the
workstations and the central server occurring via an ASP.NET web service
which will utilize WSE. I came across this thread which states that this
is possible as long as IE is on the client machine and the
Microsoft.Web.Services.dll is installed in the GAC of the client machine.

Can anyone confirm or deny that this is the case?

1. Consuming a WSE Web Service from a Windows / Web client.

2. Running WSE 2 and WSE 3 in same web service project

Does anyone know if it is possible to run WSE 2 and WSE 3 in the same
web service project? I have separate config sections for each and my
web services in the system.web tag looks like:
Microsoft.Web.Services3, Version=, Culture=neutral,
Microsoft.Web.Services3, Version=, Culture=neutral,
Version=, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35"
priority="1" group="0"/>

I am trying to use 1 web service running WSE 3 for the new security
and MTOM and the rest still running WSE 2. I seem to be getting funny
results though.

3. Can the WSE 2 adapter be used to call non WSE web services?

4. Accessing a WSE 2 Web Service from WSE 3

5. WSE 2.0 Calling another WSE 2.0 implemented web service is failed.

6. security, biztalk, web services, wse and clients

7. WSE 3.O Web Service with ASP.Net Client using VB.Net

8. wse (.net) client to wss4j web service allows all passwords, why?

9. Windows 98 Terminal Service Clients

10. Negotiat.dll and Directory Services Client Update for Windows 98

11. Cannot view any web pages on Windows 98 Client

12. Outlook 98 Contact Cards not successfully sent to another Outlook 98 email client (Internet Mail client)

13. Windows Authentication and web services with WSE 2.0

14. Last Call: Windows 98, Windows 98 Second Edition, and Windows Millennium Edition Support

15. Last Call: Windows 98, Windows 98 Second Edition, and Windows
