Weird .NET folder structure?

Weird .NET folder structure?

Hi there,

I'm new to Web Services, and whenever I create a new soltution, VS 2005
seems to REALLY want to put my solution and my code in 2 seperate locations -
making source control very angry.

It seems to want to put my solution file here:
C:\Documents and Settings\CA\My Documents\Visual Studio 2005\Projects\WebSite1

and my code here:
C:\Documents and Settings\CA\My Documents\Visual Studio 2005\WebSites\WebSite1

Is this normal? Or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks.

Sounds about right... I always remove them, move them, and then re-add
them. Drives me nuts too.

As with most Microsoft products, you should be able to change this in the
system registry. When I got VS2k3, I went through the registry entries for
VisualStudio to see what I could easily change. Of course, make a backup of
the registry before you touch it, otherwise you may end up having to perform
the VS install all over again ...

Bring up the options dialog (tools>options)
On Projects and settings>General you may change the default locations
