basic MPE questin - job names

I'm looking at SHOWJOB and see you can list jobs by their name. The
SHOWJOB manual says the user can name the job.

How do you set the name of a job?

Thanks.

On the JOB statement at the beginning of the job.

:JOB jobname,user.account
^^^^^^^

Just like you can give a session a name with the HELLO command.

Thanks. Just out of curiosity, can a job change it's name while it's
running?

Not under normal circumstances. I think there may be a few tricks that can
be done by the cognoscenti.

...snip...

The unwashed masses could do a runtime jobname change fairly easily by using
AIFCHANGELOGON():

The cognoscenti on the other hand might use the AIFxxxPUT() functions to modify
the appropriate system table(s) directly if all you wanted to do was change the
jobname or the session name (and not change the logon USER.ACCOUNT).
