I bought my wife a 32gb iTouch for Christmas and she loves it. She works
retail and the size fits her lifestyle perfectly.
Last month, when my own player died, I originally planned to get myself
the same thing. But then I started looking at some of the latest
netbooks and changed my mind.
I picked up an Acer Aspire One (1gb ram, 160gb hard drive, 8.9" screen)
and I think it serves me much better than the iTouch. Since it runs
Windows XP I can use my current applications (Office 2007, iTunes,
etc...) and easily surf to any website, play music and audio books,
watch movies, play games and so much more. I am going to try using my
desktop to record some TV's shows I am always missing, the few worth
watching anymore, and storing them on an SD card for playback later on
I keep and older iPod Nano handy for when I need pocket size audio (yard
work, gym, etc...) and sync it from the netbook, too bad Apple has not
added SD card support to the iPod's, but otherwise the Acer is meeting
all my needs.
I plan to buy my kids each one for school next year.
