understanding true on-line backup online=start option

Post by J Dollive » Sat, 06 Aug 2005 03:32:28

My question is, If a user is logged on when the backup starts and has files open, do the files
that are open not get backed up using the online=start option.

Thanks for your help in advance

Joe,

Please mark your next message as ON-TOPIC. :-)

Anyway according to HELP STORE....

START Specifies that a 7x24 true-online sync point
should occur at the beginning of the backup,
before any files are stored. All files being
stored do NOT have to be closed for write access
when the backup starts.

Agree, both database and files. BUT - I think I remember seeing that
message files were not. I think! Good luck, Paul.

Thanks for the posting, Joe.
