XP1024 configuration (FC N-port).

When installing an XP1024, fcscan shows

1/4/0/0.1 Fibre Channel N-Port
1/4/0/0.1.0 HITACHI OPEN-E disk 1/4/0/0.8.0.255.0.1.0
1/4/0/0.1.1 HITACHI OPEN-E disk 1/4/0/0.8.0.255.0.1.1
1/4/0/0.1.2 HITACHI OPEN-E disk 1/4/0/0.8.0.255.0.1.2
1/4/0/0.1.3 HITACHI OPEN-E disk 1/4/0/0.8.0.255.0.1.3
1/4/0/0.1.4 HITACHI OPEN-E disk 1/4/0/0.8.0.255.0.1.4
1/4/0/0.1.5 HITACHI OPEN-E disk 1/4/0/0.8.0.255.0.1.5
1/4/0/0.1.6 HITACHI OPEN-E disk 1/4/0/0.8.0.255.0.1.6
1/4/0/0.1.7 HITACHI OPEN-E disk 1/4/0/0.8.0.255.0.1.7

You will notice the 255 which is a part of the N-Port ID.

Doe anyone have any idea how to change it?

Eastern religous chants don't seem to work. :-)

XP1024 configuration (FC N-port).

Craig,

Recall that you must state the chants until you get want you
want (a minimum of three chants is the very shortest you could possibly
hope for). Clearly, if you've still not got your problem solved, then
you have not recited the chosen chant enough times.

Try this one on for size "nam myo renge keo". (Four people
jumped out of a car in 1974 while I was hitchhiking down Van Nuys Blvd
to let me know if I recited this chant over and over, all that I wanted
would be mine - BTW, they didn't give me a ride, but the chant may work
on your hardware).

Have a great weekend!

XP1024 configuration (FC N-port).

Post by Jim Hawkin » Sun, 01 Oct 2006 03:02:15

Craig,

One thing that strikes me is that you don't appear to have a standard XP1024
since all the drives are returning "HITACHI". Personally, I've never seen a
XP256/512/1024 return LUN Inquiries in this form and, don't think it's
configuration option, suspect you don't have the >> HP << XP firmware?
And yes, there are differences. Talk to whomever sold you the device, if
it was HP and you have a support contract place a support call and let me
know the call ID. . .
