Am I just being thick? XML file - 2 way Data Binding +Encryption

Post by Chad A. Be » Wed, 14 Dec 2005 10:42:45

Hi,

I am developing an application and need to make it so the application data
is stored in some manner. I am thinking of an XML file as the data source.
I would like to setup 2 way data binding & also make it so the xml file is
encrypted. I'm using .NET 2.0.

Thanks!

What about the XmlDataSource??

Or whip up a custom data source via the ObjectDataSource that reads/writes
as you wish..

Will that work with a windows application, not just ASP.NET?

If you have any examples, or could point me in the right direction, I would
very much appreciate it!!

Woops - I forgot that people still write Windows apps!!

I took a quick look-see, and I don't see any equivalent for WinForms..
although, it wouldn't hurt to try to maybe inherit from one of those
classes - because they are very useful and are probably extensible?? .NET,
especially 2.0 is particularly good for "if you don't see exactly what you
need, you can probably inherit from a class that is close - and make your
own"..

Sorry - good luck!

Chad,

What program language are you using, and than why do you make it difficult
to us, crossposting to the newsgroup C# and VB.Net

In this way we cannot give you any sample.

Sorry for the cross posting, I am programming in C#. However, the reason
for the cross posting is because if I get an example in VB, I can
"translate" it to C#, and vice-versa... That's why I hit the three major
groups that I thought would be able to help out.

Thanks!
