Explanation of Echo Mia Console issue

Explanation of Echo Mia Console issue

I have an Echo Mia midi and use it with my Behringer Eurorack mixer and
Wavelab. The Mia software mixer is called Mia Console.

Now although everything works fine I have to be careful because the
Behringer mixer has only one set of main outputs and so this output if
used for playback would feedback into the Beringer input and cause a
feedback loop. To prevent this I was muting the input in the Mia
Console mixer.

However recently I found out that I can record even if the Mia Mixer
input is muted. I can also playback when it is muted.

So my question is what is happeding here? Why would I ever need to
unmute?

The Mia mixer input allows you to directly monitor what is being recorded,
but I assume you are monitoring straight from the Behringer mixer anyway.

Tony,

Yes I am monitoring at the Behringer. My question was IF I have the
console input muted why does it still record?
