Xeon temp range ???

I rent a server with dual xeons with HT and Win2003 SP 1

Processor x86 Family 15 Model 2 Stepping 9 GenuineIntel ~2799 Mhz

The Intel PID utility says it's:

CPU type: 0
CPU Family: F
CPU Model: 2
CPU Stepping: 9
CPU Revision: 2D

L3 cache: NONE
L2 cache: 512 KB
L1 Data Cache: 8 KB
L1 trace cache: 12 Kuops
Packaging: OOI

Execute Disable Bit: NO
Enhanced Halt State: NO

Hyper-Threading: YES
Extended Memory 64: NO

Enhanced Intel SpeedStep: NO
MMX: YES
SSE: YES
SSE2: YES
SSE3: NO

Speed: Expected 2.80 GHz, Reported 2.80 GHz
System Bus: Expected 533 MHz, Reported 533 MHz
L2 cache memory: Reported 512 KB

I like to burn in the box before using it and I've been running boinc
distributed computing projects on it. It has dual HT xeons for a total
of 4 virtual CPU's. I only allow boinc to run on 2 virtual cpu's and
it seems to know to run them on separate physical CPUs.

The CPU's get up to the 114 degree Fahrenheit range when running boinc
on it and about 84-86 degrees Fahrenheit when idle. Case temp remains
about 82-84 degrees Fahrenheit, regardless. If I only allow one boinc
project to run at a time then only one cpu gets the higher temp.

The RLX sensor data has a circular gauge graphic with the CPU temp in
the middle and an arrow pointing towards a circular green/yellow/red
band around the middle, kind of like a speedometer. It reports the
processor temp well into the RED at 114 fahrenheit, and I'm wondering
if that's really correct. If I remember my calculations correctly,
that's only about 46 degrees Celsius, and that doesn't seem all that
high for a xeon.

Here's the SystemInformation data (server and user name deleted):

Is it safe to run it this way ? I'm beginning to wonder if the RLX
graphics are reporting temp in Fahrenheit, but the green/yellow/red
band is calibrated for Celsius.

114 F (45 C) measured at the cpu sensor is an A-OK running temperature for
the load you specified, your cooling system doing its job just fine.
