I have the same problem. At last I sent my motherboard back to Intel
and I got a new one. Same shit different pile! The Microphone still
isn't working (record input level is extreme low) and i can't do a
simple skype call because my dialog partner can't here me. First I've
tried to alter all sound level controls that windows gave me - but no
result. Then I've tried to make sound with a Knoppix CD. Same problem
with linux. After that I send the board back to the manufacturer. Now
I sit here with the replaced board and a USB sound card that makes the
work, that Intel and SigmaTel are not able to finish.

I hope some day Intel will bring out a driver or BIOS update, that
fixes the audio issue and I can use 100% of the board's features cause
I've also paid 100% of the price.

btw: No single support request, I send to Intel about this issue was
responded. Disaster!
