One only has to read down to find that it was the Windows servers that
crashed. Now, this is not an endor *** t of Macs since I doubt the
software is available on them, but it is critique of the lousy security
that M$ foists on everyone with its mediocre OS's.

With all its resources, you'd think M$ would be better. The sad fact is
that it isn't and everyone uses it.

>> The Slammer worm penetrated a private computer network at Ohio's

I've worked on critical systems, and I can't believe anyone would be stupid
enough to put a nuclear power plant monitoring system on the internet, even
with a firewall.

Geez Louise, you isolate the critical network, and import export data
through
a very limited interface (such as a serial link with a simple and
nonstandard
protocol).

The one explanation that might mean they designed properly, is that the true
monitornig system (and the plant control-room) stayed up and running, and it
was only the company intranet (for remote monitoring) that went down. The
intranet is of course likely to be extensively MS based and vulnerable.

microsoft product. The EULA even forbids using windows in such applications.
