I'm writing the interface layer for a third-party library that wants to talk
to Bluetooth devices. One of the things it wants to do is to retrieve the
friendly name of a remote Bluetooth device given its address.
How can I do this on Windows?
So far all the only two mechanisms I've found for retrieving names is to do a
full device inquiry via WSAServiceLookupBegin() or BluetoothFind*Device(), and
these will want to fetch names for all visible devices --- which will take
ages --- rather than just get the name for the device I nominate.
Is there any way of getting information about a single device?
And just to make life more exciting, this application has to work on Windows
Mobile as well as Win32, and it would be really convenient to be able to use
the same codebase on both platforms...
