Has anyone written C# code to get NMEA from a Delorme Bluetooth GPS?

Hi,

I wrote an application that needs NMEA data. I would like to use the
Delorme Bluetooth Earthmate GPS instead of the Garmin eMap (with a
Belkin Serial-To-USB adpater) that I'm currently using.

Has anyone been able to talk to a BT Earthmate from C#? I'm using the
SerialPort.zip from www.gotdotnet.com.

Thanks,
John

Hi John,

Based on my understanding, you want to communicate with your Bluetooth
Earthmate GPS through C#.

Normally, in .Net you have to use P/invoke or COM interop to communicate
with serial port etc..

There is a good MSDN article teaches you how to P/invoke CreateFile Win32
API function to communicate, please refer to:
"Use P/Invoke to Develop a .NET Base Class Library for Serial Device
Communications"
http://www.yqcomputer.com/

Also, there is a SerialTools.NET third party tool available:
http://www.yqcomputer.com/

You may also refer to GpsTools writen with Visual Basic.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation. If you have any questions or
concerns, please feel free to post it in the group. I am standing by to be
of assistance.
