Point well made.

Lets look at this from a code point of view.

It is Michelle's .sig which is the offending line of code, causing all the
erroneous looping.

Remove her .sig and the program is debugged.

So simple is it.

Yes lets.

I see where you are getting confused. The actual problem
is that the EricJohnson module has a bug which causes it
to "blow up" when it attempts to parse the output of the
MichelleSteiner module - apparently because it continues
to read past the sigdashes. This causes the EricJohnson
module to output corrupt data. Many of the other modules
in comp.sys.mac.system (including the IanGregory module)
are poorly implemented and fail to suppress their output
when presented with corrupt input, resulting in a broadcast
storm.

Changing the .sig of the MichelleSteiner module would be
an ugly hack and would not solve the underlying problem.
For example, another module might start using the same
.sig and then where would we be?

Sorry, but your analogy is flawed. If a Usenet post were code, the
signature would be a comment, not executable. You insist on executing
it.

LOL! It's especially entertaining seeing it on a post from a non-USA
address.

Carrying on the analogy, the comment for some reason, perhaps its syntax,
keeps flagging for execution instead of being skipped.

Once again, we remove the superfluous offender commentary, the program does
not loop en error.

IT is so simple, it could have come from the Applesoft basic instruction
booklet.

Further carrying on the analogy, only one or two users experience this
problem. All other users are unaffected. Do we change the code for
just those few users, or do we determine why they're having problems
when others aren't and devise solutions on their machines?

Analogy aside, please answer me this. Suppose Kerry were the incumbent
and Bush the challenger. Suppose someone used a signature urging us to
impeach Kerry. Would you speak out against that person just as you have
against Michelle? Assume for the sake of your response that this person
were an exact clone of Michelle except for the political view.

Well, if there were an exact clone of you who loved Bush, that would be
like a matter-antimatter thing, and if the two of you ever met, then no,
the world literally could not survive. Of course, now someone's likely
to give me a physics lesson...

That seems to be the case also with the 10.3.6 update.

My TIBook, BTW has zero problems with it.

This only a few people are having this problem makes it irrelevant, right?

Yes there is offending code which is causing a part of the total amount of
machines to have problems.

Since the line is superfluous commentary, what would be lost be removing the
offending code fore everyone?

Yes, as it would be causing the same off-topic discussions, and she is too
rude and or blind not to see the error of her ways.

The point is this.

The election is over.

People like michelle burned up all the good will the had during that sour,
mean-spirited campaign which they chose to run.

It is over now, and I'm sick of it. If she wants to impeach Bush fine...let
her do it in appropriate fora.

Bev Kupf just chastised me for posting something about IBM wanting to sell
its pc division.

If that is off topic, so is Michelle's .sig which is designed purposely to
elicit this kind of discussion.

Once again, it comes down to offending code...or commentary.

Remove the offensive, superfluous comment, and everything is smooth
again...for everyone.

Wrong. I'm one of several.
Besides, if if a code problem cause crashes on 1 model, it is a code

I will. Ms. Steiner is a self-igniting explosive device.

Cross her opinions and you will become, well, dead, or what is worse,
pronounced as a Bush supporter on usenet.

Then there are no holds barred.

This gives her license, she thinks, to be as rude and condescending and
accusative, strident and combative as she obviously is.

You need no physics lesson except to make sure that no Bush supporters
actually exist in the presence of Ms. Steiner(and since she is in the USA
that means all Bush supporters need to leave her country), and those who
dare to invade the emanation in which Ms. Steiner lives must be silenced or
beaten via an avalanche of invective and ad-hominem, into being quiet.

Those are the physics of Bush-haters.
