Status of the ORIC roms

I am trying to get sedoric into Fedora Core Extras but have hit the same
problem I had with fuse-emulator in that there is confusion over the status
of the ORIC ROMS.

Does anyone know if they have been released under a modern licence (such as
BSD, LGPL etc) or if there is a definitive statement as to their status
which would not cause problems with the "let's sue the bastards first,
think sometime later" attitude that prevails in the US?

No one has officially released the license and I've been unable to find
anyone that claims to hold it. It was thought one of the companies that
funded Oric may own the rights, like British Car Auctions, but they don't
seem to have any knowledge of Oric.

I've tried asking Dr P. Johnson for the ULA details as I know he was
reluctant to release them some years ago as he didn't know who owned Oric

I think if anyone was concerned about the ROMs they would have complained to
Fabrice, and as far as I'm aware, they haven't. The emulator has found it's
way on to coverdisks in England and it was mentioned in a French magazine a
few years ago so anyone interested should have been aware of it.
