Greetings Steve,

Getting so used to these hoaxes.
It can be very interesting, and quite funny, to look into 'alt.april.fool'
and other crossposted groups. Glad to see that nobody from here fell for it.

Oh, did go check if "Gears of War" was an actual game, as I had *never*
heard of it!!!

Life lately has just been pure hectic.....
In short:
* The Food Bank has been extremely busy, but made worse with losing two
warehouse workers in the past week. Have had to actually work for a change
to help us all keep up. Have an official inspection coming up on the 17th,
and will be working nights and the weekend before to be ready for it.
* Our church moved physically to a town that is a 25 mile drive for us down
the Interstate. Oddly, we only added 10 minutes to our travelling time. A
lot of time has been taking up getting this new building set up.
* Have been spending a lot of time in Second Life, as a blue elf, named
'Spider Spinotti'.

On the computer side:
Arianna's AMD64 PC had major problems running WinXP, despite being the same
spec as my machine. After a couple of rebuilds and multuple driver fix
chasing, we gave up and ordered her a new machine... a Dell 17" laptop. She
seems to be really liking the freedom that wireless brings, and is even
coping with Vista.
Did play with getting Linux installed on her old PC, but could not find one
that would do everything - especially find the sound card or network card.
Last week, installed Win98SE on it, and everythings seems to be fine.
So, have taken out the Celeron based PC that I had next to my AMD64, and
have replaced it with this far faster machine. Euphoric is running great on
it, which I am so glad about, since I still get problems running Euphoric on
WinXP, and hated messing around with virtual machines.

Today, I was off work, so did get out my Oric Atmos, since I wanted to play
with the "real thing" again. Ran into one problem though.... my PAL TV card
cannot seem to find the channel. Used to work just fine. Shall investigate
again.
Would it be possible that something is wrong with the Oric output?
Unfortunately cannot check the visual on anything else here. Know the Oric
itself is working fine, as it boots up ok (know the sound well), and
key-clicks & PING, ZAP, etc work fine.

Greetings Bob,

How many game machines do you need?????

Glad to hear that you have been working.
Apologies for not checking up on you in the past year.
Yep, it is roughly a year since I came over and visited you and Steve.
Missing good haggis, and Cumberland sausages

Sunny??????
BTW - been snowing hard here today in Kentucky - in April!!!

Greetings Steve,

Had *exactly* the same thought when I checked Peacer's pic, and was going to
reply as such when I saw your reply! ;)

Maybe if Peacer was to port the game over to PAL for us?

How do, Yanky-Jock-bloke.

Nor me. Bit of a give away that!

Hmmm. Who's checking ? Food hygiene ? Head Office ? the Big G ?
I think they shouldn't let you know when they are going to do a check so
they get to see the real deal, not the result of lots of extra work. They
changed the Health and safety rules here so they can check without
appointment.

I thought they had them on every corner in the States ? Why'd they move ?

You sad old geek !

:o)

Was the Oric plugged in ? If it was see if the channel can be set manually.
It's 36 IIRC.

Could be but tends to be a fairly rare fault.

Well you'll just have to come back over here again and have it checked.
