Sun Ray[TM] Appliance Smart Cards

Sun[SM] Alert 53922 states that the quick removal of a Sun Ray[TM]
appliance smart card may leave a desktop session open. This can occur in
Sun Ray Server software 1.3 for Solaris[TM] Operating System (Solaris
OS) 2.6, 7 and 8 without patch 111891-09 and version 2.0 of the
software. This is a Sun Ray firmware bug and is not specific to any
version of Solaris OS.

After removal of the smart card, make sure that the session associated
with the smart card is not displayed on the screen.

syslogd(1M)

Sun Alert 55440 states syslogd(1M) does not properly handle large
syslog(3C) packets and may allow an unprivileged user to cause a Denial
of Service (DoS).

A local or remote unprivileged user may be able to terminate the
syslogd(1M) daemon on a Solaris OS by sending large sized syslog(3C)
packets. As a result, system messages are no longer forwarded to log
files or users as configured in the syslog.conf(4) file, which is a type
of DoS.
