"Different." I've just spent some time reading Christopher's "The Icon
Programming Language Handbook", see

The last time I really looked at icon was around 1990, but I remember

Ralph Griswold, the developer of SNOBOL4 and Icon, passed away on
October 4. He was a regent of the University of Arizona, and several of
my professors studied under him back in the day. Our seminar yesterday
was dedicated to Griswold. We looked at samples of his "weaving"
database -- it turns out that he spent his retiring years documenting
the whole history of weaving.
