[OT] Mysql -> comp.databases.mysql

1. The comp.databases.mysql group is a reality. If your NSP doesn't
carry it yet, ask them to pick it up! For questions spanning both
php and mysql, crossposting would be a Good Thing[tm].

2. For the maintainer of the PHP Faq: Perhaps a pointer to
comp.databases.mysql would be good for sending questions
specifically related to MySql to the new group?

C. Would a periodic posting about the existence of the new
comp.databases.mysql newsgroup be in order and if so for how
long and how often?

In article <dhdul2$104$ XXXX@XXXXX.COM >,

"It's not soup yet"

The create group hasn't shown up on Giganews. So, it may be in your
mind (along with Mike Brown's mind about Katrina), but it's not
universal by no means.

Any other news services still not carrying it?

Be patient. It takes time (and requests from users).

News server administrators not normally add every newsgroup which has
been created. Most require requests from their users.

I don't know specifically about Google Groups, but I suspect it's no
different.

I do see an alt.comp.databases.mysql... I never even knew that one
existed... I'll keep my eye out for the new one.
