## Multiple IF's Using Formulas from Other Cells

### Multiple IF's Using Formulas from Other Cells

I could really use some help. I have only a basic knowledge of Excell
formulas, and I am trying to do the following calculation in a cell using
comparisons of other cells.

N1, and all the T cells are other cells that i am using for this formula

If N1=0, then zero
If N1>0, and T1-T2>=T3*T4, then T3*T4
If N1>0 and T1-T2<T3*T4, then T1-T2

I hope this makes sense. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me.
Thank you!

would:

=IF(N1=0,0,IF(AND(N1>0,T1-T2>=T3*T4),T3*T4,IF(AND(N1>0,T1-T2<T3*T4),T1-
T2,"other circumstance")))

be of help?

### Multiple IF's Using Formulas from Other Cells

=IF(N1<0,"unknown",IF(N1=0,0,IF((T1-T2)>=(T3*T4),T3*T4,T1-T2)))

### Multiple IF's Using Formulas from Other Cells

Try
=IF(N1=0,0,IF(T1-T2<T3*T4,T1-T2,T3*T4))

### Multiple IF's Using Formulas from Other Cells

Thanks! Worked like a charm. By the way, if N1 is never going to be less
than zero, do i have to have that first formula with "unknown"?

No, it wouldn't be necessary. But you didn't specify that it would never be
less than zero, so I accounted for it. With that piece of information, I
believe Don's solution is the most efficient.

=IF(N1=0,0,IF(T1-T2<T3*T4,T1-T2,T3*T4))

Glenn,

Thanks a lot for all of your help.

Or =IF(N1=0,0,MIN(T1-T2,T3*T4)) ?
