Why am I not getting a delivery receipt when I ask for it.

Why am I not getting a delivery receipt when I ask for it.

I sent a message to several email addresses. I got a message back which
stated that the message could not be delivered because of of the following
reasons (listed several having to do with email addresses). I don't know if
the message was delivered to all but one of my addressee's or to none of
them. I decided to try to track down where the problem is by sending a test
message requesting a delivery receipt to each of the recipients. I started
with my wife. The test message was received by my wife but there was no
delivery receipt received by me. I sent another test requesting a read
receipt. My wife authorized the read receipt, and I received it. Why did I
not get the delivery receipt? Also, since my wife received the test messages
but did not receive the original message I am assuming that none of the
addressee's received the original. Any idea why? Help!

Typically, non-delivery to one address does not preclude delivery to the
others. The exact text of the NDR would be helpful in deciding why it was
not delivered.

Delivery receipts are a function of the mail server (your wife's ISP). If
the ISP server does not honor delivery receipt requests you will not receive
a delivery receipt.
