Why does main battery drain before external battery?

Post by Sierramoo » Sat, 08 Nov 2003 23:27:52

I just bought the CF expansion slot (IPAQ 3800 series)
with the extra battery but even with the new battery, my
main battery still drains rather quickly. I still get the
messages stating that my battery is low and to prevent
data loss, I should recharge it. When I check on my
battery status, my main battery will be at around 40% and
my extra battery will be something like 83%. Shouldn't
the extra battery drain first? What happens if I let the
main battery drain? Will the extra battery kick in, thus
preventing data loss?

Not for a while, sorry. We already have enough material queued for 2.6.22
and a lot of it is broken. So I am concentrating on fixing the remaining
bugs in 2.6.21 and getting some of the new bugs we have prepared for 2.6.22
fixed up.

Meanwhile, I expect lots of new stuff is appearing in the subsystem trees,
but there isn't much I can do about that.
