Pocket PC Version 3.O vs. Pocket PC 2002

Post by Mike » Sat, 05 Nov 2005 02:30:37

I understand from some other newsgroups that my iPAQ 3835's "Microsoft
Pocket PC Version 3.0.11171 (Build 11178)" OS is the same as "Pocket PC
2002." Is this correct? If so, I'm having a problem. I just upgraded my MS
Money to 2006 and needed to upgrade the Pocket PC to Money 2005. When I
tried to make this upgrade, the system said I did not have Pocket PC 2002?
Any suggestions.

Mike,

You are correct in that your build number is Pocket PC 2002. For a complete
list of versions and builds, visit

As for your Money 2005 upgrade issue, I'm not sure I can shed much light on
it as I don't use Money. I did a quick search of the Microsoft Knowlege
Base and didn't find anything that related. Hopefully someone else can post
that uses the application and help out.

Regards,

Is there a CAB file of pocket money? If there is then copy it to your ppc
and run from there.

Failing that you can download the file from the MS site and try that, they
even have Pocket Money 2006 not just the 2005 you mention.

Sorry I don't have an answer to your question, but you have the same ipaq
as me. I am new to the pocket pc and am having trouble getting answers
from compaq. I want to buy an expansion pack but don't know what one to
buy. I have seen different ones on ebay but am leary of which one to buy.
I would like to be able to use my wifi card that is tpye I. Any advice?

I don't have any personal experience of those cards. Have you tried a web
search looking for reviews?
