iPAQ 4705 in cradle causes IE on PC to stop working

Post by Quorla » Tue, 02 Nov 2004 06:46:41

Hello,
I just got a new pocket pc (HP iPAQ hx4705) which I love. Only problem is,
when the iPAQ is in the cradle, connected to the PC, IE on the PC won't
work. Just gets "Cannot find server or DNS error" no matter what the
destination. It's driving me crazy. I'm using ActiveSync 3.7.1. Any help or
info would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Can you check whether IE on your PC is configured to go through some proxy.
All addresses you type will then be redirected via this proxy.
The proxy settings can be found on your IE by following Tools-> Internet
Options->Connections Page-> LAN Settings Button
Check before cradling and after cradling to see if there is any difference?

At that time when your device connected to the cradle just check
that what is ipaddress are you getting. Are you getting the correct ip
address. Try to release and renew the ipadress. And also try to reset the
ipreset file from the inf folder. Start>run>inf>iereset.
cmd>ipconfig /all check for the dns address primary and secondry .
enter manually those dns in the local area connection properties > tcpip
properties> use the following dns address.

thanks
