How to Change Exchange 2003 SP2 Standard to Exchange Enterprise version

Post by dlung » Wed, 13 Dec 2006 00:11:37

I have Exchange 2003 Standard SP2 whose mailstore is about to max out.
I have a license for the Enterpriuse version and would like to
gracefully change this version to the Enterprise version. Is there a
graceful way to do this without having to do a clean installation?
Please advice, your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
DeeMan

- Is the mail store going to reach 75 Gigs? That's the max Store size limit
allowed by Exchange Server 2003 Post-SP2.

- It's a seamless upgrade from Std. to Ent. Ed. - just run Setup. Watch
Application Event Log for event notifying of Store starting with unlimited
size.

Make a complete backup (I prefer Ghost versus just a data backup) &
then just run the setup on Exchane Ent. Ed. Seamless...

And then re-apply any service packs and hotfixes.

If I had set the database limit > 18GB back in Standard Edition, do I need
to remove that registry after upgrading or does the Enterprise Edition
ignores it?

Enterprise should ignore it, though it probably would make sense to
remove it regardless.
