Exchange 2007 PST import with import-mailbox cmdlet (Exchange 2007 SP1 Beta 2)

Hi,
I have an issue where I need to import PST files for a client who is moving
to a new Exchange 2007 mail environment. Due to the lack of support for
Exmerge in Exchange 2007, I have read about the import-mailbox cmdlet which
will allow for importing PST file data to mailboxes using Exchange 2007 SP1
Beta 2. I have setup the Exchange 2007 X86 console on a Windows XP SP2
workstation with Office 2007 installed.

When I run the import-mailbox cmdlet, I get the following error:
WARNING: An unexpected error has occurred and a Watson dump is being
generated: Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID
{08D1AA55-704E-4397-AB29-55D2A3972BCB} failed due to the following error:

8007007f. At line:1 char:47
+ Dir E:\ExchangeMailboxExports | Import-Mailbox <<<<

I don't want to have to build an Exchange 2003 server in order to perform
Exmerge imports, but I don't know how to get past this error.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Marcus

Well, I'd go back to using Exmerge, because it works just fine and is way
more supported than the Beta2 release of a service pack.

You don't have to build a 2003 server, you just need the 2003 admin tools
installed on a box along with the exmerge binary.

Andy,
Thanks very much. That's what I was thinking I'd have to do. I heard the
import-mailbox cmdlet worked in Beta 1, but I think they broke it with the
Beta 2 release. I'm just going to install the admin console for Exchange
2003 on an XP workstation and see if I can Exmerge the data in that way.

Thanks very much for the response.
