Changed mailbox limit but user still keeping default Exchange limits

Post by Cybor » Sat, 12 Apr 2008 23:37:46

Hi, I have moved a user from one database to another which has a default
limit much lower than his mailbox. I have gone into ADUC and uped his limit
to cover his mailbox size, but it's still taking the databases limits, how
can I spped this up. He's Outlook is not in cached mode either, plus this
is Exchange 2003.

Hi,

Default cache period for DSACCESS is around 2 hours. You can speed this up,
read: http://www.yqcomputer.com/

Alternatively you could stop and restart the Information Store service - but
you probably won't want to do that if this is a high use in production
server with an SLA against it.

It can up to 2 hrs.
The only way to "force" it is to restart the information store service which
will of course knock everyone offline.

Thanks, but why do I not see
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchange ADAccess"?

You're looking on the Exchange Server right?

The article actually states if the
'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchange
ADAccess\Instance0' key is missing to create it following these steps:

1.. Locate the
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchange
ADAccess\Instance0 key. If this registry key is not present, create it using
the following steps:
2.. Right-click MSExchange ADAccess, select New, and then select Key.

3.. Name the new key Instance0.

Its *up* to 2 hours.
It could be a minute as well after the change is made.
