messages pending submission queue stuck

Post by V29ya3dpdG » Thu, 15 Dec 2005 02:20:04

Starting yesterday this queue has stuck a few times. Doing some searches we
found that ending the inetinfo.exe process will release the emails to the
mailboxes.

I am running SBS 2003 with Exchange 2003. It has Trend Micro SMB
anti-virus/anti-spam running. THis server has been up for at least 3 months
troublefree as far as sending recieving emails.

I have not been able to track down the specific issue related to this
problem, but have found that others have come across the same problem, but
have not posted a solution.

1. emails stuck in messages pending submission queue

2. Incoming mail stuck in SMTP "Messages Pending Submission" queue

Hi Chester,

What's sticking, incoming or outgoing ? Can you drill down a bit, check the
properties of the messages themselves to see what the status of the emails
is ?

Are they legit emails? (i.e not ndr's to non-existent domains).

Try and restart the MSExchangeSA service. If that does nothing, try restart
the SMTP default virtual server. If no joy, or the smtp vs gets hung, run
iisreset from a command prompt.
