Well, I *thought* I had written a publicly accessible article on how to do
this. You need a DLL editing tool. I wrote about this in a book I wrote
last year. If you know someone that has Exchange 2003 24seven, I included
the instructions to do this. (I usually don't try to push my own book in
the newsgroups, but I don't know where else it is documented.) The RL
Toolkit can be found at
ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/Softlib/MSLFILES/RLTOOLS.EXE. Get it soon, because
I think Microsoft is going to pull their FTP server. The editor you want is
the RLQuikEd.exe program.
Doing this does require editing the MDBSZ.DLL, though it is not rocket
science (and you don't need to contract with MCS), each time you apply an
update or a service pack, it may be updated. Plus, if you have some sort
of weird problem with your Exchange Server, PSS is going to ask you to put
the original version back in place while you troubleshoot your problem.
