ex-admin user still have admin rights

Post by Natalia No » Wed, 07 Jul 2004 02:28:17

Hi all,

I have a user who was in the portal 'Administrator' group.

Now, I moved them from this group to the 'Reader' group. But after re-login
he still has all admin rights.
After that I removed him from the list of portal users.
All users from my domain are included to the 'Reader' group (and this user
either). So he have to be 'Reader'. But still he has portal administrator
rights.

I have no idea how I can remove him from admins. :(
Can anybody help me?

Thanks in advance.

Does this user have admin rights everywhere? just the home area? an area or
site in particular? Each individual area and site can have its own security.
Is it possible that you removed admin rights for this person in one
particular area or site, and not the others?

Also, make sure that his account isn't part of the Local Administrators.

All local admins have access to the portal no matter what settings are on
the portal so that you do not inadvertantly lockup a workspace with no
recovery options!

re-login

Is he listed as the owner of an area? They still have certain privileges
even if they aren't in the administrator group.
