ASP.NET web app in a web part

Post by amVzdGV » Sat, 09 Jul 2005 07:59:08

I have an existing ASP.NET web app which I would want to appear in a web
part, as though it's part of the site. Is this possible? Do I need to develop
a custom web part for this purpose?

Hi Jester.

You can use the page viewer webpart. In the webpart set the link
property to your webapp and that's it.

You can try using page viewer webpart if you want an easy way out...

In my case, that existing ASP.NET web app uses Form auth. I want one
particular page in that app shows up on the SPS without going through login
page because the user is logined to the SPS already. Is there a way to do
that?

Thanks!
Wenming

Hello wenming,

Actually that depends if your asp.net web app supports a way to login to
it programmatically. If so, it can be done, otherwise no. Btw, is the web
app by any chance on the same server?

Kind regards,

Right, I was thinking to see if it is possible to modfiy the web app to get
user credentials from SSO and if there is an enry skip the logon screen. Is
this what you mean login programmatically?

No, it is on different server, but on same domain.

Thanks,
Wenming

Hi Nikander and Margriet Bruggeman,

Do you know if there is any c# code example to retrieve credentials from SSO
ticket? Also how do you store ticket in SSO? I am pretty new to SPS.

Thanks,
Wenming
