WSS and SQL Server 2005 EE: Server farm or Typical??

WSS and SQL Server 2005 EE: Server farm or Typical??

Post by Jack Blac » Fri, 06 Jan 2006 08:51:26

Hi, all! Are there instructions somewhere for running WSS SP2 with SQL
Server 2005 EE on a single box? Does one want to config it as Server Farm?
If not, how can I prevent WSS from installing MSDE even tho I already have
SQL 2k5EE already installed on the box?

Thanks!
Jack

Ignoring the first part of the question. (I still advise against running WSS
(even SP2) with SQL Server 2005 at this time.

The second part is standard. To avoid WMSDE being installed you select the
Farm option on install.

Can you provide some more details about why you are reluctant about using WSS
and SQL 2005,

kind regards,

Too many reports of problems.

Which I've not collected so don't ask but there was another one today in I
think the direct access newsgroup.
