OWA and authentication

Post by RedTe » Fri, 09 Apr 2004 02:02:20

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone knows how to get from having to
specify the domain\username to just username in OWA. By
defualt our setup is trying to authenticate to the local
server and not the domain. In system manager we have the
domain set and it is also set in IIS as our domain, both
under authentication. Now I found a document from
Microsoft that states that if you make a change in IIS it
will be over written by the Exchange manager. If that is
true then I obviously have an issue in Exchange but I
don't see it. Please give me any ideas.

Thank you

Hi,

In Exchange System Manager, navigate down to
Servername\Protocols\HTTP\Exchange Virtual Server. Right click on the
Exchange sub-folder and then click on Properties. Click on the Access tab
and then click on the Authentication button. Beside the default domain, put
a "\" in the field and then click on OK, OK. Give this a few minutes to
replicate down to IIS and it should fix it for you.
