5.5 to 2k3 Front-end/Back-end problem

Got this request today - any Exchange Server 2003 MVPs or other experts know
what might be up? These guys are doing a 2003 migration from 5.5.

Dave,

Can you put out your feelers and see if you can get any leads on how to deal
with the Exchange 5.5 and 2003 front-end to back-end compatibility issues?
We tried the 2003 front-end to the 5.5 back-end and get HTTP/1.1 503 Service
Unavailable, so it doesn't work out of the box.

Dear All,

I'm setting up a testing enviroment in Virtual Machine for using rpc over
https, but i have some problem.

First, let me clarify my enviroment now. I setup one GC server, 1 Front-End
server, 1 Back-end server and one WinXp client.

All the IIS, CA was setup in FN, and the back-end server only store
mailboxes, but when i connect it from client side, i find that the direcotry
is running tcp/ip, and the mail server is showing the back-end server, and
also running tcp/ip??

Did anyone can give me some idea, and let me solve this problem asap.

Best Regards,

cckone
