SQL Server 2005 Evaluation - Analysis Services Connect OK / Database Engine Connect Not.

Post by anthony ga » Fri, 08 Dec 2006 13:03:04

Good evening,

I've been struggling with this for a few days. I was able to connect to both
Analysis Services and the Database Engine of SQL Server 2005 when I first
installed it. Just the other day, I started getting the error below. Now, I
can't connect to my database engine. I've uninstalled and reinstalled from
scratch and it's still not working. I know the evaluation period is not
over.

* I searched around and saw a few entries about editing the Surface Area
Configuration to allow remote connections. This is done.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated?

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When
connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that

Try running through the brief connectivity tutorial in Books Online or at
http://www.yqcomputer.com/
Configuration is there, but also some other issues that might be blocking
you.
