Problem with seeing/not-seeing DM models in DMSample and Analysis Manager

Post by Tomasz Sta » Sat, 06 Nov 2004 23:29:32

Hi.

I made a DM model in Analysis Manager. Then i can see it in DMSample, it's
OK. But then i delete it in Analysis Manager, it disapeard but in DM Sample
it's still accessible and i can see it 'Mining Models' box. Why ?

Then i made a model in DMSample with CREATE statement. It is accessible in
DMSample but in Analysis Manager i can't see it. What's going on ?

I'm using MS SQL Server 2000 with SP3 for SQL Server and SP3 for Analysis
Services.

Have you tried the refresh button in the mining model pane in DMSample? Does
SELECT * FROM <the deleted model>.CONTENT works?

It's described in the FAQ, available at

Yes it works. The table shows content of the model. It's not empty. I can
work with this deleted model in DSample.

If you set "Mining Location=<directory path>" in your connection string,
then CREATE MINING MODEL will create a local mining model in the directory
you specify.

CREATE MINING MODEL cannot be used to create server mining models in SQL
Server 2000. In SQL Server 2005 (currently in beta) you will be able to use
CREATE MINING MODEL to create and persist models on the server.
