How can I install MSDE with de ComputerName\InstanceName, I dont need
(Local)\InstanceName because I need to access this database from another
computer

I try with

setup INSTANCENAME="(ComputerName)\InstanceName" SECURITYMODE=SQL SAPWD="sa"
DISABLENETWORKPROTOCOLS=0

the error messager is "The instance name is not valid"

hi Christian,


you only need to specify the instance name, at setup time as setup
INSTANCENAME="InstanceName"
the full instance name will later be, at runtime, (Local)\InstanceName and
".\InstanceName" and "ComputerName\InstanceName", and, as long as you
enabled the desired network protocols, it will be remotely available as
ComputerName\InstanceName
