Access Denied

Access Denied

Post by sqlnewbi » Sat, 12 Mar 2005 04:49:58

When I attempt to connect to an SQL server via ODBC, I get the following
error :

Error on connection:
(Connect())
not exist

However,
When I log on to the computer I am on as a different user, I can make
the connection. The users are both administrators of the local machine and
I am connecting via SQL Authentication, sa account. Is there is something
in the user's profile that would prohibit him from connecting to the remote
SQL box ? Maybe something in HKEY_CURRENT_USER in the registry ?

Thanks in advance for your help..

1. Access Denied, Access Denied- like a broken record!

2. Access Denied! C: access denied

A buddy of mine lent out his laptop to his brother. and the brother
messed it up badly. The Laptop is a intel celeron 32-bit vista home.
some of the problems he said was that he cannot access the C drive..
says Access denied. all his user accounts have no addmin access. when
he double clicks on lets say set up parental controls or anything that
needs admin controls it either says access denied or doesn't respond.
he also delete the recovery vista drive. Is there anything he can do
other than buy all new disks and start new?
