Install SQL 2005 cluster on existing SQL 2000 SP3 cluster using the same shared cluster drive

Install SQL 2005 cluster on existing SQL 2000 SP3 cluster using the same shared cluster drive

We've been asked to install SQL 2005 cluster on an existing (production) SQL
2000 (SP3) cluster.
The other requirement is to use the same shared clustered drives.

I know that SQL 2000 and 2005 can coexist on the same cluster, but I am not
sure if we can use the same shared cluster disk of SQL 2000 with the
installation of SQL 2005.

Anyone did that?
any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Each instance of SQL Server must be installed in it's own resource
group. As disks can not be shared between resource groups each SQL
instance must have it's own disks.

It is possible to make two instances share a resource group, but it
would take a couple of hours of down time for the current SQL 2000
instance.
