Sync Exchange "Contacts" with external database

Sync Exchange "Contacts" with external database

Hello, We have a couple of custom apps that have a shared SQL based company
contacts list (which has a whole lot more info than just contact info) .
We'd like to be able to push some parts of this SQL server contacts list
into the Exchange contacts list so everyone can use a company wide list.
This contacts list is somewhat dynamic and we need to be able to push this
SQL based list to Exchange to keep them in sync - but the driver will be the
external SQL based list.

First, is it possible to "push" contact list info TO exchange? If so, what
is the best way/method to do this? I'm certain we can write whatever is
needed in VB or C++ to facilitate the push part but I don't have a clue on
how to go about communicating with Exchange.

Can anyone provide so insight here?

Thanks!!

Jim
