OCX and CLSID

OCX and CLSID

Post by Himene » Thu, 14 Oct 2004 22:14:09

Problem: when I distribute my applicative program (installation created with
NSIS by Nullsoft) different OCX are installed with a CLSID different from a
computer to another (unlike other OCX by Microsoft which maintain always the
same ID).
The same problem occurs when different programmers develop on different
computers. (in practise we cannot share file *.vbp as OCX have different
references).

Is there a system or tool (also paying) which allows me to name a specific
clsid for each OCX?

I have searched around but I have not found anything.

It's sounds like you're not maintaining binary compatibility. If there are
several people all working on the same OCX (not sure if that's what you
meant or not), then all people have to have the same file that they are
maintaining binary compatibility against. One way to accomplish this is to
copy the OCX to a network folder that everyone has access to and use that
copy of the OCX for your compatibility file.
