o.k. i get an error 3001 using the following statement
any ideas

L = "#" & Date & "#"
ADO.Filter = "not empty(clfrezdate) and empty(clfrezto) and clfrezdate <=" &

I missed the beginning of the thread, but it seems to me that you're relying
on
VB to do an implicit cast/conversion of the Date variable to a string as
part
of the following line:


Perhaps you could try an explicit conversion of the date to a string like
so:

L = "#" & FormatDateTime(Date) & "#"

& L
