Debug databinding possible?

Debug databinding possible?

Post by Owin » Tue, 21 Dec 2004 22:56:12

When loading an asp.net page and there's a late binding on a dropdownlist
that doesn't contain the value it's wants to bind, an error:
Specified argument was out of the range of valid values. Parameter name:
value
occurs.

The exception does NOT state on wich control the binding fails.

I ahve a page that contains a lot of dropdownlists.
Is there a way i can find out which one generates the error?

The fastest way would probably be as follows:

Debug Menu -> Exceptions
Click on Common Language Runtime -> System -> System.ArgumentException.

Click on System.ArguementException and on the lower portion of the dialog
window select "when exception is thrown" break into de ***

In addition, while stopped on a breakpoint, select Debug -> Windows -> Call
Stack to view the call stack window. One or both of these methods should get
you close to where you need to be.
