datasets and table adapters dissapear from forms randomly!

We are trying to create a fairly simple data manipulation application with
forms that contain grids and other dataset bound components.
The database we use is an SQL 2000 server on another Windows XP box in the
lab.
The problem is that sometimes in the middle of the day when i press f5 i
find out that all the dataser/table adapter settings from a random form are
lost.
This is a serious productivity issue because we have to redo the dataset and
table adapter settings
Can annyone think of what we may be doing wrong?
